No, this blog isn't about the strip club from The Sopranos. It's about the new gourmet sandwich shop that's offering protection in the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market and will soon be flexing their sandwich-making-muscles in Downtown Allentown.
The first time, I was blown away by their Carlito Chicken Sandwich, a marinated chicken breast, roasted red peppers, haas avocado, alfalfa sprouts and chipotle mayonnaise on fresh baked herb focaccia. It was delizioso!
For the second trip I recruited some co-workers - they felt the same way about Bada Bingg sandwiches as I do. This time around I had The Bada Bingg, slow roasted prime rib on a Portuguese roll with horseradish aioli, caramelized onion and au jus for dipping.
If you haven’t figured it out by the two sandwiches I mentioned, all of Bada Bingg's sandwiches are named after famous characters from The Godfather, The Sopranos, Scarface and Goodfellas.
I am not sure when the official open date is for the new downtown location but I do know it'll be located at 33 N 9th Street in Allentown. Hopefully Bada does alright there. I've seen 5 places go through this location since I've been working on Hamilton Street (2 ½ years now). But I have a feeling they won’t have a problem making a name for themselves on the streets of Allentown.
Have you tried Bada Bingg?
