On Thursday the gang at the LVCVB enjoyed lunch at Buca di Beppo. When we got there we were shown to our seats in “The Pope Room”. This room is decorated with memorabilia and photos of Popes past, and the lazy Susan on our table was adorned with a bust of Pope Benedict XVI whose eyes seemed to follow you as he was spun around the room …
Anyway, on to the good part: the eating!
Our table started off with a calamari appetizer and a large bowl of mixed green salad with prosciutto and gorgonzola. They also supplied us with all the warm bread and butter we could eat. I had a lot, so I’m not sure if anyone else got to enjoy it, but I sure did!
We all ordered off the lunch menu and had a variety of entrees. I enjoyed the chicken parmigiana and spaghetti (pictured above) and cleaned my plate. Tracey had the biggest piece of lasagna I have ever seen; she got a ‘to go’ box and will be fed all weekend.
No one in our party was hungry for dessert, a decision I regret, because as soon as I got back to the office I was craving some of Buca’s delicious Tiramisu. I know from experience that you can order take-out dessert, so I guess I know what I’m having for dinner tonight!
Have you ever had dessert for dinner (at Buca di Beppo or elsewhere)?
