My son Jimmy is home from college for a couple days so of course he's conned me into taking him out to eat a few times. We did our traditional sushi lunch last week, so on Monday we hit Jack Creek Steakhouse. After all, they just recently gave Lehigh Valley national attention by winning the "Ultimate Hometown Grill Off" competition on "Live with Regis and Kelly".
Knowing that Jack Creek always has great offers, I looked around for coupons. I found one for $10 off $45 purchase, $6 off $30 and $3 off $15 in the Lehigh Valley Map & Guide.
I also checked out the travel packages page on LehighValleyPA.org; after all, you don't have to be a visitor to take advantage of the discounts. In the Summer of Savings (SOS) promotion, Jack Creek offers 20% off two entrees, so I printed it out. (If you're going to take advantage of that offer, print your coupon and get over there before September 7 when it expires.)
This restaurant has been family owned and operated since 1994 so you know they must be doing something right. Coupons alone don't keep a restaurant in business. Jack Creek has the perfect combination of great food, a comfortable atmosphere and most important, great service.
Our server Ben was a perfect example. After taking our drink order he explained their traditional complimentary warm flour tortillas served with honey butter, then gave us just the right amount of time before coming back for our order. I opted for the IronPigs pulled pork sandwich and Jimmy had a chicken sandwich with an interesting dill sauce. Both were delicious.
I can see why Jack Creek Steakhouse has such a loyal following, which is what led them to have the most votes to win the grill off. Congratulations to John & Donna Meacham, the owners. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Nate Meacham on TV...did you? If not here it is...
