Last week, instead of heading to the gym after work, I headed to the spa. Rest assured, it was NOT a sacrifice on my part. After a mere 20-minute drive from downtown Allentown to downtown Coopersburg I found myself on the front porch of Always Pretty Salon and Spa.
As I walked through the door, I literally felt as if I had just walked into someone's home. Always Pretty is located in a Victorian-type house and is decorated as such throughout the first floor, which is where the mani/pedi room and salon room are located. Up the ornate wooden staircase on the second floor you'll find three massage rooms, two of which is where I spent my time.
Scott did my massage - which was heavenly, as any good massage should be - in a room with a seaside motif. Honestly, the room could've been decorated with gardening tools and I wouldn't have cared because I was focused on one thing only: relaxation.
After my massage, it was time for my facial, which Carol did in a room that was a mix of Victorian and Far Eastern flair. Better yet, a CD with the sounds of waves and whales was playing softly in the background - nothing is more relaxing to me than the sound of the ocean.
After Carol worked her magic fingers on my face, my two-hours of bliss were over. With a complimentary bottle of water in hand, she walked me to the door, but not without introducing me to a beautiful, African grey parrot who lives in a room just off the salon. He even said "Hello!"
