Last week, I decided to check out Restaurant Week at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, and I invited three colleagues from work to join me. While there were several restaurants participating, we chose the $20 three-course lunch offered at Melt.

Having been to this restaurant several times before, I knew what I was in for, and it certainly didn't disappoint.

I started with the classic Caesar salad. I was delighted to find crisp romaine lettuce (without a hint of wilting), fresh anchovies and strips of seasoned bread on top.

For the entree, I chose another classic, the margherita pizza with tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella. This pizza was large enough that I had to bring half of it home with me, so I got a second meal out of it for lunch the next day.

For dessert there was only one option - a pistachio cake topped with chocolate gelato. It was creamy and divine.

Once you added the tax, tip, and my bottled iced tea to the bill, it came to just over $30 which is not what I would normally spend on a workday lunch. But I considered it a special occasion and thereby was able to justify the cost.

Have you dined at Melt yet? Or, for that matter, any of the other restaurants at Promenade? Which one is your favorite?
