Cash Purse Hits Record High for Miniature Golf
U.S. ProMiniGolf Association holding U.S. Open in Center Valley, Pa.
Lehigh Valley, Pa. (April 12, 2016) – Putt U Miniature Golf (5201 Pennsylvania 309, Center Valley, PA) will host the annual U.S. ProMiniGolf Association (USPMGA) U.S. Open on May 14 – 15, 2016. This tournament features pros from all over the world as they compete for the championship title and the largest cash purse in the sport of miniature golf.
“We’ve hosted a lot of different events over the years, but few can compare to the uniqueness of this one,” says Michael Kuzy, Director of Sports Marketing for Discover Lehigh Valley Sports. “Discover Lehigh Valley Sports is excited to support Randy Bloch and Putt U in their hosting of the 2016 U.S. Open Mini-Golf Championship.”
Pros will be competing on the red and blue courses for a total of six rounds. The U.S. Open will allow all age divisions to participate in the event including Pro, Women, Senior, Team, Amateur, and Junior. The U.S. Open will also include a Hole-in-One contest not scored with the U.S. Open.
The USPMGA is dedicated to continuously growing the sport we all love. Bob Detwiler, President of U.S. ProMiniGolf Association says that he is “thrilled to see such a huge success in the miniature golf sport since its meager beginning in 1997.”
The 2016 U.S. Open will be presented by Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley. Spectators are welcome to attend the event.
