Valley Preferred Cycling Center Opens Registration for Bicycle Racing League

A Fun Comprehensive Program of Fitness, Competition, and Sportsmanship

Trexlertown, Pa. – Registration is now open for the 2013 spring session of The Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League. The Bicycle Racing League (BRL) introduces riders ages 9-16 years old to the thrill and excitement of bicycle racing. No previous experience is necessary. This program has produced more National, World, and Olympic Champions than any other program in the country.

The spring session of the Red Robin Marty Nothstein Bicycle Racing League will include up to 140 participants and will provide a comprehensive program of fitness, competition, and sportsmanship. A fall session is also offered.

The program format consists of five teams that will practice and race for ten weeks before the season culminates with the team championships at the nation’s premier outdoor track cycling facility, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. For the spring session only, the top 12 participants in each category will be selected for an All-Star event on June 28th, during a World Series of Bicycling professional night of racing.

The Bicycle Racing League is named in honor of Marty Nothstein, a Lehigh Valley native that is an Olympic gold medalist, silver medalist, three-time world champion track cyclist, and current Executive Director of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center. Nothstein got his start when he was a kid participating in the Bicycle Racing League at Valley Preferred Cycling Center. “I remember when I was young, I loved coming to practice, riding with friends, and learning so much from great mentors” said Nothstein. “When I began the program I never imagined it would help build my career to eventually land trips to the Olympic Games” he added.

Marty Nothstein and his team of USA Cycling-certified coaches manage the BRL program with assistance from national caliber athletes. Head coaches are CPR and first-aid trained and all have extensive experience in bicycle racing and training.

Registration fee for the program is $75.00 per rider. There is a maximum registration fee of $150.00 per family. To register or for more information please visit  Registration for the spring session closes on April 5th at 3:00PM.
