The Yardbirds, Sister Hazel & Maceo Parker Coming to SteelStacks This Fall

BETHLEHEM, PA – Rock and Roll Hall of Famers The Yardbirds, alternative rock band Sister Hazel and acclaimed saxophonist Maceo Parker will entertain audiences at SteelStacks when they perform at the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Cafй presented by Yuengling this fall. Tickets for the shows go on sale July 12, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and July 15, 10 a.m., to the public; they’ll be available at and 610-332-3378.

On Oct. 6, the Musikfest Cafй welcomes The Yardbirds. Formed in 1963, the band is famed for contributing to some of guitar-playing’s greatest innovations and helping launch the careers of former members Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck. Among its many hits are “Heart Full of Soul,” “Over Under Sideways Down” and the chart-topping “For Your Love,” which peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The group was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine’s and VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists” lists, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

For more than 20 years, Sister Hazel has used their upbeat mixture of folk and rock to delight audiences from coast to coast. The band, which performs at the ArtsQuest Center on Sept. 8, released it major label debut, Somewhere More Familiar, in 1997, with the album’s single “All For You” hitting No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Since then, the group has produced more than a dozen other live and studio recordings, including 2016’s Lighter in the Dark, its first recording in over five  years.  The album made the Top 5 of both the Billboard Folk and Top Country Albums charts.

Maceo Parker, who visits the Musikfest Cafй on Oct. 12, began his career working with James Brown as a prominent soloist on many of Brown’s records. He has also collaborated with a number of other artists including Dave Mathews Band, James Taylor and Prince. Parker’s solo career took off in the 1990s with his first album, Roots Revisited, which spent several weeks at the top of the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts. Parker continues to perform around the world, sharing his unique combination of jazz, hip-hop and funk.
