The Mango Men and Fastball Close Out Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks’ Summer Concert Series This Weekend
BETHLEHEM, PA–Celebrate the end of summer at the final Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks Summer Concert Series performances of the year. This weekend’s shows include performances by The Mango Men Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m., and a special ‘bonus’ show by Fastball Sept. 13, 7:30 p.m.
The Mango Men won Kenny Chesney’s “Next Big Star” Philadelphia competition in 2008, earning them the opportunity to open for Chesney in Philadelphia and Holmdel, N.J. The group, which serves up a blend of rock, pop and country, credits Chesney, as well as Jimmy Buffett, Bruce Springsteen and several other artists as inspirations behind their music.
Fastball is an Austin, Texas-based rock band that has been nominated for two GRAMMY Awards – Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for “The Way,” and Best Long Form Music Video for their video “They Wanted the Highway.” The band quickly rose to fame when its 1998 album All the Pain Money Can Buy, featuring hits like “The Way” and “Out of My Head,” achieved platinum sales within six months of its release. While the Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series was originally scheduled to end Sept. 12, the opportunity to add Fastball to the lineup resulted in one more awesome chance for the region to enjoy great, free live music before summer’s end.
In addition to the shows by The Mango Men and Fastball, the Levitt Pavilion’s final weekend will also feature concerts by Brooklyn-based funk-soul act Turkuaz Sept. 10, 7:30 p.m., and the outlaw country sounds of the Truck Stop Troubadours Sept. 11, 7:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.levittsteelstacks.org/.
