The Hooters to Rock the Yuengling Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks Aug. 24

BETHLEHEM, PA—The Hooters, the Philadelphia-based group that rose to international stardom in the 1980s and ‘90s, will rock the Yuengling Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks Aug. 24, 8:30 p.m. Tickets for the show, which takes place at the Levitt Pavilion, are $39. They go on sale starting May 17, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and May 20, 10 a.m., to the public at and 610-332-3378. 

The Hooters achieved commercial success in the mid-1980s with hits like “All You Zombies,” “Day by Day,” “And We Danced” and “Where Do the Children Go.” The group’s 1985 Columbia Records debut, Nervous Night, achieved platinum status around the world, selling in excess of two million copies. That same year, the band was tapped to open the historic Live Aid concert in Philadelphia, and Rolling Stone named it the “Best New Band of the Year.” Five years later, in July 1990, the group joined Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters in Berlin for his legendary performance of The Wall.

After an extended hiatus, The Hooters began to tour again in 2003, and in 2007 they released their first new studio album in 14 years, Time Stand Still. Two years later, the group released the CD Both Sides Live, a double album set featuring its greatest hits in both electric and acoustic versions.
