Registration to enter Fair’s ‘Blue Ribbon’ Contests Ends This Week

Allentown Fair Superintendent of Entries Louise Dennis is alerting prospective competitors for cash and blue ribbons that the August 8 deadline to register is five days away. With over 1,200 categories for adults to enter items in and 135 for youth, the list of possibilities for crafters, gardeners, bakers, brewers, wine makers, photographers, knitters and more are endless.

Prospective entrants eyeing up their gardens, recipes, homemade crafts and antiques trying to figure out what to enter can get answers to those question this week by going to Agri~Plex on the Allentown Fairgrounds where  knowledgeable entry clerks will be on hand to assist in finding the right category for almost anything that can be made, raised or collected.

The entry office located in Agri~Plex on the west end of the Allentown Fairgrounds will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. starting today (Monday, August 3) through the final day on Saturday, August 8.  Entrants may also register by mail until the Saturday, August 8 deadline.  Mail entries must be postmarked by that deadline date.



Photo Ops:  Reporters and Photogs are asked to see Louise Dennis if visiting entry hours inside Charles Hall of Agri~Plex, the leftside doors at the entrance.  As the deadline approaches near the end of the week, the entry clerks usually are most busy affording a good time to get photos or footage.
