Modest Mouse Returns to Yuengling Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks July 20
BETHLEHEM, PA—Indie rockers Modest Mouse, which kicked off the Yuengling Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks last summer with a sensational, sold-out show, are returning to the summer concert series July 20, 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the concert, which takes place at the Levitt Pavilion at the base of the Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces, are $45 in advance and $49 day of show; they go on sale today, 10 a.m., at steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
Formed in Issaquah, Wash., in 1993, Modest Mouse has become the standard for indie rock over the past decade. After its 2004 release, Good News For People Who Love Bad News, which included the hit “Float On,” the group released We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 in March 2007.
In 2009, Rolling Stone named “Float On” No. 39 on its Best Songs of the 2000s list. The group’s most recent recording is Strangers to Ourselves, released this spring. The band is currently performing at music festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe including Firefly Festival in Delaware, Rock the Garden in Minneapolis, Tinderbox Festival in Denmark and Calling Festival in London.
Other bands performing at the Yuengling Summer Concert Series at SteelStacks this summer include CAKE July 12 and Dr. Dog Sept. 25. Tickets for both of these shows are on sale now at steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
