Little Big Town, former GRAMMY Award winner and “Vocal Group of the Year” nominee for the upcoming Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards, is bringing its “Pain Killer” tour to The Great Allentown Fair at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 10 for the show that also features country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe.

Little Big Town, comprised of members Karen Fairchild, Phillip Sweet, Kimberly Schlapman and Jimi Westbrook, came on the music scene in 1998 with hits such as “Boondocks,” “Bring It On Home,” “Good As Gone” and the GRAMMY nominated single “Little White Church.”

The group opened for Sugarland at the Allentown Fair in 2011, a year before releasing “Tornado,” its hugely successful fifth album that produced the 2X platinum No. 1 mega hit “Pontoon,” the No. 1 title-track “Tornado,” the GRAMMY-nominated “Your Side of the Bed,” and a concert-crowds favorite, “Sober.” “Pontoon” scored the group’s first-ever GRAMMY for Best Performance by a Country Duo or Group.

“Pain Killer,” the follow-up album released last October, already produced another No. 1 single, “Day Drinking.” The second song off the album, “Girl Crush,” is currently at No. 17 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
Tracks on this current album still rely on the resilient quartet’s distinctive four-part harmonies, but reveal a mix of influences including ‘50s and ‘70s country, funk, bluegrass and rock that the band wanted to explore.
Collectively, Little Big Town has earned more than 25 award show nominations including several top honors in ACM and Country Music Association (CMA) categories. The foursome even won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song—“Good Afternoon.”

Special guest Ashley Monroe is a singer-songwriter that gained attention as part Pistol Annies, an “all-girl” group that included Miranda Lambert. She is currently featured on Blake Shelton’s No. 3 single “Lonely Tonight,” worked with rock icon Jack White on several projects, recorded the duet “Bruises” with Pat Monahan of Train and went on tour with the band in 2013, and is currently out with her own chart-climbing single, “On To Something Good.”

Starting Friday, April 10 at 10 a.m., tickets for the Little Big Town with special guest Ashley Monroe concert will be available at the Fair Box Office, online at, over the phone at 800-745-3000 and at Ticketmaster Centers.

They are $45 for reserved seats on the floor and $45 and $30 for reserved seats in the grandstand. Concert tickets purchased in advance include fair admission.

The fair box office behind the Ritz Barbecue on the Allentown Fairgrounds will hold special hours Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and will be open thereafter Thursdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until further notice.
Tickets are still available for the previously announced shows Def Leppard / Styx / Tesla on September 1, Carrie Underwood on September 3 and Meghan Trainor with Life of Dillon and Charlie Puth on September 6. Advance purchase tickets for half price off regular fair admission, discount ride all day wristbands and concert premium parking are also sold at the fair box office and online.
