KIDZ BOP Kids to kick off 164th Great Allentown Fair with a family show of today’s pop hits
Allentown, Pa. KIDZ BOP, a children’s album-producing phenomenon for 15 years annually outselling many of the biggest names in pop music, is celebrating its decade and a half atop the charts with a new tour coming to The Great Allentown Fair.
Tickets for The KIDZ BOP Kids Life of the Party Tour show at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 30 go on sale Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m. They are $32 for reserved seats on the floor and $32 and $18 for reserved seats in the grandstand.
With more than 16-million albums sold by the brand including one certified platinum and nine certified gold, the current edition of four KIDZ BOP Kids have to their credit the best-selling children’s album of 2015, “KIDZ BOP 27.”
In fact, last year they outsold Sam Smith, Maroon 5 and even one of the upcoming fair’s major headliners Meghan Trainor. In 2014, they topped the combined sales of Nick Jonas, Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Ellie Goulding, Wiz Khalifa, Jason Derulo and Rihanna.
Adding to that distinction, KIDZ BOP has had 23 Top 10 Billboard chart debuts. Only The Beatles, Barbra Streisand and The Rolling Stones can claim more.
KIDZ BOP Kids have done all this by covering current hits on the charts with youthful exuberance that has their recordings on constant replay in the cars and homes of young families and made their tours a favorite family attraction.
When they are not singing, current members Ashlynn, Sela, Grant and Matt host a 24/7 KIDZ BOP music channel on SiriusXM and create kids-friendly content on YouTube.
The KIDZ BOP Kids show at the fair coincides with “Dollapalooza” Preview Night, a special promotion that debuted last year offering $1 specials on rides, games and food. All carnival rides are $1 a ride and select games are $1 to play. Each of the 90 food vendors offers at least one item at $1.
“Our fairgoers loved Dollapalooza last year and having an affordable family show that night is extra appealing,” fair Talent Buyer/Marketing Director Bonnie Brosious said. She added, “More than half the Grandstand venue’s 8,500 reserved seats are scaled at $18 and with $1 specials on the grounds, families can come out to see a show plus sample all the 164th fair has to offer when it kicks off at 4 p.m.”
The fair also announced that the J & J Demolition Derby, a Labor Day Monday tradition, will be back on the track at 5 p.m. September 5 to close out the fair. Tickets for the derby are $15 and $10 for kids age 12 and under.
Starting Friday, June 24 at 10 a.m., tickets for the KIDZ BOP Kids concert and the Demo Derby will be available at the Fair Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, over the phone at 800-745-3000 and at Ticketmaster Centers.
Tickets are still available for the fair’s four shows previously announced that feature rock group KISS on Thursday, September 1, country star Chris Stapleton on Friday, September 2, pop sensation Meghan Trainor on Saturday, September 3 and comedian-ventriloquist Jeff Dunham on Sunday, September 4.
The fair box office behind the Ritz Barbecue on the Allentown Fairgrounds will hold special hours Friday, June 24 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and be open thereafter Mondays and Thursdays 10 a.m.-2 p.m. until further notice.
