GRAMMY WINNERS LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO, CELTIC TENORS PERFORMING AT MUSIKFST CAFÉ
BETHLEHEM, PA—Grammy Award winners Ladysmith Black Mambazo, a holiday show by the Celtic Tenors and Classic Albums Live performing Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon are among the new shows coming to the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Tickets for the performances will go on sale Tues., Oct. 9, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., Oct. 12, 10 a.m., to the public. They will be available at www.artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.
Classic Albums Live: Dark Side of the Moon – Nov. 30, 8 p.m.
One of the best selling albums of all time, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon debuted in 1973 and spent an amazing 741 weeks on the Billboard charts. Among the many classics on the album were hits such as “Time” and “Money,” the latter of which reached No. 13 on the charts. On Nov. 30, Classic Albums Live will recreate this legendary album, note for note and song for song, treating music lovers to one of the greatest recordings of all time, performed live!
The Celtic Tenors Holiday Show – Dec. 13, 7:30 p.m.
With an eclectic mix of classical, folk, Irish and pop, The Celtic Tenors established themselves as the most successful classical crossover artists to emerge from Ireland. With worldwide album sales totaling more than one million, they have topped the charts in several countries.
The Fabulous Greaseband – Jan. 19, 7:30 p.m.
It’s the best of the ‘50s through the ‘90s when this rock ‘n’ roll party band takes the stage. The Fabulous Greaseband’s highly entertaining and energetic delivery of the greatest dance songs ever written has kept the group on top for the last 35 years.
Ladysmith Black Mambazo – Jan. 27, 7 p.m.
For four decades, the voices of a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo have combined rhythms of their native South African musical traditions with the sounds of Christian gospel music. Their efforts have garnered praise within the recording industry and solidified their identity as a cultural force. The group was featured on Paul Simon’s 1986 Grammy winner, Graceland. The band has since received 15 Grammy nominations and eared three Grammy Awards for its work.
