Fegley’s Brew Works To Be Showcased At 2012 SAVORSM:
An American Craft Beer & Food Experience

Allentown, PA, September 24, 2012 As food and drink enthusiasts descend up the nation’s capital on June 8 and 9, Fegley’s Brew Works will be among the 74 small and independent craft brewers participating at SAVORSM: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience in Washington, D.C.

Presented by the Brewers Association, SAVOR is the premier beer and food pairing event in the U.S. In its fifth year running, SAVOR provides guests the chance to sample craft beers from eight geographic regions across the country. To complement the craft beers, attendees will enjoy a reception-style sampling of delicious sweet and savory appetizers from a menu designed by Brewers Association culinary consultant Adam Dulye, Chef/Owner of The Monk’s Kettle and The Abbot’s Cellar in San Francisco, and a select group of chefs specializing in beer and food pairings.

“As we continue to expand our operations, SAVOR is a great opportunity for us to showcase our award-winning brands to a new market,” said Brewmaster Beau Baden, of Fegley’s Brew Works.

“As the benchmark event for craft beer and food lovers, SAVOR is a unique opportunity to try great food paired with beers from small producers that ordinarily only distribute locally,” says Julia Herz, Craft Beer Program Director, Brewers Association. “In addition to meeting the principals behind the breweries, attendees have an opportunity to learn about a vast array of craft beer topics courtesy of SAVOR’s educational presentations. It’s a truly coveted event by beer lovers.”

Craft brewers continue to see increased sales and growing market share, along with praise for their small-batch beers, despite the fact that overall beer industry sales have declined.

During SAVOR, Fegley’s Brew Works will be serving Hop’solutely (named 2010 Beer of the Year by Joe Sixpack) paired with Chèvre crostini with fennel & blood orange marmalade; Fegley’s will also serve the GABF medal-winning Arctic Alchemy with Pecan crusted BBQ beef short rib

About Fegley’s Brew Works:

At one of the most difficult times in the history of the City of Bethlehem, our family entered the brewing and restaurant business. The Bethlehem Steel plant had been shutting down slowly for years and the region was suffering the loss hard. Yet on April 15th, 1998, the Bethlehem Brew Works optimistically opened its doors to the public. Over the course of a dozen years, our family became more involved in the community, and worked with shop owners to strengthen the downtown.

In 2007, our family began a similar endeavor in the City of Allentown opening an even larger restaurant with a new brewery and bottling facility. With the addition of a new sales team behind the brewery sales, Fegley’s Brew Works beer can now be found at hundreds of locations in the region from Harrisburg to central New Jersey, north to Scranton, and south to Philadelphia. With several new tanks added, we are now producing close to 5,000bbls annually.

Fegley’s Brew Works has now added the Burrito Works and Coffee Works next to the Allentown location on Hamilton St. We are grateful for the world’s gifts, and these new additions also pass along the best of them by providing food and beverages that are as good as nature intended. We use only all-natural meats and produce, and source as locally as possible. We are proud members of Buy Fresh, Buy Local and the Sustainable Business Network of the Lehigh Valley.
