ELIOT FISK, GUITAR VIRTUOSO, OPENS FREE PUBLIC WORKSHOP TO GUITARISTS OF ALL GENRES AND LEVELS
GUITAR AEROBICS AND THE POETRY OF TECHNIQUE
October 11, 7:30pm, Foy Hall, Moravian College
Eliot Fisk, internationally renowned guitar virtuoso, his wife, celebrated Mexican guitarist Zaira Meneses, and their daughter Raquel Fisk, already an extraordinary pianist at the age of 12, are the artists for The Bach Choir of Bethlehem’s Gala Concert and Fundraiser, Fisk Family Fugues on October 12, 2013, 8pm at Baker Hall, Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University.
Eliot Fisk has announced a new format for the “master class” he is offering on October 11, 2013, 7:30pm at Foy Hall Moravian College. Guitar Aerobics and The Poetry of Technique is a free workshop for fans, students, and lovers of guitar music. It is open to everyone – young and old, classical, jazz, rock, beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Bing your guitar or simply come and listen, meet the master, and join in a Question and Answer session. Guitar Aerobics and the Poetry of Technique is Fisk’s effort to make the traditional master class format participatory. Instead of sitting and eavesdropping on a private lesson, everyone actively plays. Eliot Fisk will introduce exercises that allow for all types of guitarists (classical, jazz, rock, folk) at all levels. Each person is invited to participate in the manner of an aerobics class where each person can do some part of an exercise at his or her own level. Basic aspects of music theory and harmony are integrated into the exercises so that the ear is engaged as well as the fingers.
The October 11th event is FREE for participating guitarists and the general public. No reservations required.
