Easton Main Street Initiative Seeks Peace Candle Illuminator

Easton, PA, November 16, 2015 – Easton Main Street Initiative (EMSI) is in search of The Official 2015 Illuminator for the annual Peace Candle Lighting. This year’s Illuminator will carry The Official Match and be honored to light the Easton Peace Candle. Bids are currently being taken for this year’s Illuminator position via an online eBay auction at: http://goo.gl/ay7TzU. Bidding will end on Wednesday, November 25th at 11:30am.

The highest bidder must be able to be present and attend the Lighting of the Candle at 6:30pm. Proceeds for this year’s auction will go to support the Peace Candle Lighting evening events.

The Holiday Open House & Peace Candle Lighting event will be held on Saturday, November 28th from 11am-7pm. The event will kick off the holiday shopping season with Downtown Easton’s selection of unique boutiques and specialty stores. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the season with live music, carriage rides, strolling street performers, photos with Santa, kids’ activities, ice carvers, and more treats to delight the whole family. A full day of merriment culminates in the grand lighting of Easton’s Peace Candle. Free metered parking will be available all day in Downtown. Easton’s Peace Candle has been an area tradition since 1951. The largest non-wax candle in the country, and second in the world, the Peace Candle serves as a symbol of peace for all religions and denominations.
