Easton, PA, July 1, 2016 – It’s a birthday party for the Easton Farmers’ Market that turns 264 years old this year. Come join the party in Centre Square, downtown Easton PA on Saturday July 9, 2016 from 9 am to 1 pm. Not many US institutions can boast that they have been around for 264 years, and further the Easton Farmers’ Market has the distinction of being the nation’s longest continuously operating open-air market, providing fresh, high quality, local produce and food products directly from regional growers to consumers every year since 1752.
Party-goers will enjoy birthday cake, live music, a juggler and stilt walker along with free activities at The Kids’ Play area on the green and air brush tattoos for kids. Easton Mayor Sal Panto and the City’s Town Crier, David Rose will lead the crowd in singing Happy Birthday. Bring the whole family for a fun time to celebrate a centuries-long tradition while shopping the market and seeing the bounty offered by EFM’s 34 local food and specialty-item vendors.
As a producer-only market, all products sold at the Easton Farmers’ Market are locally-grown and produced. A program of the Greater Easton Development Partnership (GEDP), the market operates every Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, rain or shine, in Centre Square, Easton PA, until December 17, 2016.
