Dave Davies, The Polyphonic Spree & Leon Russell Added to Musikfest Café Lineup

PolyphonicSpreeBETHLEHEM, PA–Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dave Davies of The Kinks, Pop-rock ensemble The Polyphonic Spree and rock legend Leon Russell are the latest additions to the lineup at the ArtsQuest Center’s Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling. Fans of legendary British rock band The Kinks will enjoy an intimate evening with founding member Dave Davies when he returns to the Musikfest Café Oct. 13.  As the lead guitarist for The Kinks, Davies was an integral part of the quartet who helped shape the sound of rock with hits like “All Day and All of the Night,” “Lola,” “Tired of Waiting for You” and “You Really Got Me.”  Davies has also released several solo albums during his career and in 1990, as a member of The Kinks, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

A symphonic pop-rock band from Dallas, Texas, The Polyphonic Spree formed in 2000 and has released six albums over the past 15 years. On Oct. 28 in the Musikfest Café, the unique choral group will perform its debut album, 2002’s The Beginning Stages of The Polyphonic Spree, in its entirety as part of The Polyphonic Spree 15th Anniversary Tour. The special evening will also include deep cuts, choice covers and a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

On Nov. 11, ArtsQuest is pleased to welcome Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Leon Russell back to the Musikfest Café.  Russell’s legendary career includes collaborations with icons spanning from Jerry Lee Lewis to Joe Cocker, with hits such as “Tight Rope” and “Lady Blue.” His most recent recording, Life Journey, was released in 2014.
