Crayola Experience Honored with Discover Lehigh Valley Tourism Award

EASTON, PA — Crayola Experience was honored with the Discover Lehigh Valley Tourism Award at the Discover Lehigh Valley Annual Meeting held on November 7 at the State Theatre in Easton. The award recognizes significant investment in a Lehigh Valley tourism attraction.

“The Discover Lehigh Valley Tourism Award traditionally goes to a new or greatly expanded tourism project in Lehigh Valley. This year Crayola took a huge risk. It shut down the Crayola Experience for several months and did a total—and I mean total— transformation,” said Mike Stershic, President of Discover Lehigh Valley. “The Crayola Experience emerged renewed and better than ever. Visitors are raving and their numbers have increased, both a testament to the creative spirit of Crayola and the success of their efforts,” he said.

Since undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation project and reopening in May of this year, Crayola Experience is credited with hiring more than 133 local residents, contracting over 40 local vendors, and engaging local artists to help with redesign project. They have also increased South Third Street parking garage revenue by 50% percent over Memorial Day weekend alone.

The award was accepted on behalf of Crayola Experience by Vicky Lozano, Vice President of Corporate Strategy. “With our recent renovation, we now feature 21 attractions that allow kids of all ages to merge art and technology, tap into their creativity, and experience the magic of color,” said Lozano. “The Crayola Experience has served as a real-life extension of the iconic Crayola brand for over 17 years and we are proud to make not only Easton, but the entire Lehigh Valley, a family-friendly destination.”

New attractions include the Wrap It Up!, an attraction where guests can name and wrap their very own crayon; Marker Mania, where guests can make custom multi-color markers from scratch; Art Alive, an experience where a child’s digital art comes to life; and more.
