Children encouraged to bring “Hearts For Hawks” to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary

Kempton PA — Children ages 12 and under who bring “Hearts for Hawks” on Saturday, February 11 or Sunday, February 12 will receive free trail admission to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, Kempton. Hawk- or nature-themed valentines are encouraged, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Regular trail admission costs $5 for adults and $4 for seniors.

“Hearts for Hawks is a chance for kids to get creative at home and then to get outside here at the Sanctuary. It’s a fun way to observe Valentine’s Day, and I’m excited to see what kind Valentine’s get posted on our wall,” says Bookstore Manager Mary Therese Grob.

Each valentine will be displayed at the Visitor Center for the month of February.

Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is located just three miles south of New Ringgold on Route 895, or 7 miles north of the I-78/Route 61 Cabela’s intersection. Turn onto Hawk Mountain Road and follow to the Visitor Center parking lot at the top of the Mountain. For more information, call 610-756-6961 or visit

Open year-round, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is the world’s first refuge for birds of prey and an international center for raptor conservation. Its eight miles of trails and half a dozen scenic overlooks are open to the public for a modest trail fee to support Hawk Mountain conservation science and education programs.
