Palmerton, Pennsylvania (22 January 2016) – With the first snow storm on its way this weekend, Blue Mountain Resort is inviting everyone to get outside and enjoy the winter! The Resort will be kicking off Safety Week on Monday, January 25th and Winter Fest will start on Saturday, January 30th.

January is National Safety Awareness month in the ski industry and Blue Mountain Resort will be celebrating starting Monday, January 25th through Sunday, January 31st. If anyone is new to skiing or snowboarding, especially kids, this is the perfect time to come to the mountain, learn the skier code, and how to keep family and friends safe on the slopes! There’s something for everyone, including a Safety Coloring Contest, free binding checks all week in Valley True Blue Mountain Sports Shop, a free helmet rental with a ski or snowboard rental (subject to availability), a Safety Scavenger Hunt, and you can enter for a chance to win a youth helmet! For more information on what’s happening this week, visit Blue Mountain Resort’s Facebook page and click on Events.

To bring Safety Week to a close, Blue Mountain Resort has teamed up with Cooper Electric to host Winter Fest on Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st. Winter Fest is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy winter. Whether you ski and ride or are just looking for something fun to do with family and friends, Winter Fest is the place to be! For those who love winter sports, stop by all weekend and enjoy appearances by the USA Luge Team from 9am -1pm, ice sculpting demonstrations, and snow shoeing with our friends at EMS. If you’re not into winter sports and simply looking for something fun to do, stop by and try the Ultimate Hot Chocolate Bar, paint a pint glass and enjoy live music at Last Run Lounge, try out the drink specials at every bar across the mountain, and stick around for the Fireworks on Saturday at 6pm. Carver, Blue Mountain Resort’s Hus-ski mascot is excited to meet everyone and have some fun! More information about Winter Fest can be found on the Resort’s website at www.skibluemt.com.
