Bethlehem’s VoirVoir to headline Allentown ArtsFest’s closing night

Sep 4th, 2015

(Lehigh Valley, PA) Bethlehem Indie Rock band VoirVoir are slated to perform a headlining set to close out the final day of Allentown ArtsFest on Sunday, September 13, 2015. The performance, which will take place on the ArtsFest main stage, will mark the second year in a row the band has appeared at the annual arts and music festival held in Allentown’s Cedar Beach Park.

Their headlining set at this year’s ArtsFest comes after a whirlwind two-month period in July and August, 2015 which saw the band performing in Brooklyn, Philadelphia, and their hometown Bethlehem, culminating with an invitation to open for The Flaming Lips at this year’s Musikfest. Coverage of VoirVoir’s Musikfest performance was featured in Lehigh Valley Live.

VoirVoir is April Smith (Vocals/Keys), Felicia Vee (Rhythm Guitar), Josh Maskornick (Drums), Matty Love (Bass), and Matt Molchany (Vocals/Lead Guitar).  After self-recording and releasing their first demo full of jangly Indie Rock songs in 2013, VoirVoir began getting added to local, then regional shows. The band has shared the stage with regional to international acts such as Slingshot Dakota (Topshelf), Drowners (Frenchkiss), Lewis & Clarke (La Société Expéditionnaire), The Flaming Lips (Warner Bros.), and more.

2015 saw the band gaining a regional following from their energetic live show, and the release of their debut album “There Are No Good Goodbyes” was met with very positive reactions (view select press here).  “We’re very excited to close Allentown ArtsFest this year. We plan on playing our full album as well as our new single,” singer/guitarist Matt Molchany said.  The band’s latest single and video, “Sides”, was recorded at Converse RubberTracks in Brooklyn (which you can view here).

Allentown ArtsFest is a free, all-ages festival which takes place September 11th-13th at Cedar Beach Park – 2600 Parkway Blvd in Allentown and will feature three stages of local, regional, and touring musical acts as well as a skate park, giant graffiti murals, comedy and improv sets, breakdancing competitions, dozens of artists, and local food and drink.
