A Century of Performance: Cars of the 20th Century
Allentown, PA – America On Wheels Museum is excited to announce the debut of our Changing Exhibit, A Century of Performance ~~~ Cars of the 20th Century. The exhibit debuts for (6) months beginning April 16th beginning at 10am. There will be a private sneak-peak opening at 9:30 a.m. for Museum members. The exhibit will run through October 30th.
“When one thinks of performance cars the first thing that comes to mind is horsepower and how big is the engine, and how fast does it go. Performance can be ones appreciation for the way the entire car is built as its uniqueness such as a 1913 National states Linda Merkel, Museum Executive Director. Performance can be the comfort the driver experiences in the way his/her car rides as does the 1932 Piece Arrow with its innovation suspension. Or, performance can be interpreted as “the sound of silence” when one drives in a 1922 Rolls Royce and the only sound you hear is the clocks ticking.
“This exhibit affords our visitors an opportunity to follow the evolution of performance automobiles through every decade of the 20th century in a single gallery states Alan Gross, Exhibit Chair.” The Gallery will showcase 13 unique vehicles. Viewing classic cars through a Century will certainly entertain all who visit.
