2016 Musikfest App Features All-new Features Designed to Enhance Festival Experience for Guests
BETHLEHEM, PA–Just in time for Musikfest 2016 Aug. 5-14, the festival’s popular mobile app is back, with several new features and enhancements designed to make it easier than ever for guests to navigate the festival and its 350 performers, 45 artists and 40 different food vendors. The free app, made possible thanks to the support of PNC Bank, is available for both Apple iOS and Android operating systems and is available for download now at www.musikfest.org/app.
New this year, the app includes a “What’s Hot” section that allows ’festers to ‘like’ their favorite artists and events, and see trending events and activities based on likes from other users, including “Most Liked” and “Most Scheduled” events. In addition, users can now create and save their own schedules, set alerts to be notified of the start times for their favorite performers, and they can view the festival’s lineup of 500-plus shows in both list and grid formats.
“A good thing just keeps getting better. Since its introduction, the Musikfest mobile app has proven to be a popular, ideal way to help visitors navigate all of the engaging features of this great event from the convenience of their smartphone,” said Pete Danchak, regional president for PNC Bank in Northeast PA. “We can think of no better way to help bring the community together and enhance their enjoyment of the festival than by supporting further development of Musikfest’s fun, interactive mobile app.”
Developed by Aloompa of Nashville, Tenn., the 2016 app also includes popular features such as artist biographies, festival maps, breaking festival news and updates, in-app ticket purchasing options and more. Users also have the ability to share their favorite Musikfest memories to Facebook and Twitter from the app, including framing their pictures in Musikfest Camera Frames featuring the 2016 festival artwork.
“The Musikfest App continues to grow in popularity with each passing year, providing a great resource for festival attendees to discover everything that’s going on at the festival, all at the touch of their fingertips,” says ArtsQuest Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Partnerships Curt Mosel. “The support of PNC Bank over the past two years has helped us expand the app’s availability to all of our patrons, while also allowing us to add in several exciting, new features that will really enhance the festival experience for our guests.”
Launched in 2014, the Musikfest app is downloaded by more than 20,000 people each year, with more than 600,000 page views annually. PNC Bank helps underwrite the development costs for the app, making it possible for the nonprofit Musikfest to offer the app for free for both Apple iOS and Android operating systems.
