Who Shot Rock & Roll: A Photographic History, 1955 to the Present
Organized by the Brooklyn Museum in New York, with guest curator Gail Buckland, Who Shot Rock & Roll is the first major museum exhibition on rock ‘n’ roll to put photographers in the foreground, acknowledging their creative and collaborative role in the history of rock music.
Over 175 images from photographers such as Richard Avedon, Diane Arbus, Linda McCartney and Annie Leibovitz capture the raw essence of the rock ‘n’ roll genre through candid snapshots, publicity portraits, album cover art and videos of popular artists ranging from Elvis and the Beatles to Eminem and Amy Winehouse.
