Registration open for 2016 Diverse Literacies Conference
Registration is now open for the 2016 Diverse Literacies Conference presented by Penn State Lehigh Valley and the Lehigh Valley Writing Project.
The conference will focus on “Language as a Resource for Revaluing Diverse Learners” and takes place from 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Bear Creek Mountain Resort and Conference Center in Macungie, Pennsylvania; 101 Doe Mountain Ln, Macungie, PA 18062. The conference will feature demonstration workshops, research presentations, and poster discussions presented by teacher educators, local teachers of various grade levels and disciplines and pre-service teachers. Yetta Goodman, a noted scholar in the literacy field, will be the keynote speaker for the event. Her research focuses on early literacy, miscue analysis and the reading and writing processes.
The early registration fee, accepted until Sept. 16, is $59.
Late and on-site registration (limited) is $69. Full-time students may attend for $30.
