Lehigh Carbon Community College’s (LCCC) Photography Club will continue its Fabulous Photographer series this semester with Joe Edelman, an award winning advertising and editorial photographer, author, educator and model mentor. He will be presenting his “The Simple Approach to Portraits that Flatter” on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m., in the Rothrock Library’s Alumni Center (AC) Rooms 107/108, main campus in Schnecksville, Pa. Each month the LCCC Photography Club will feature a creative genius who can inspire through gorgeous photos and great insight to help us improve our photography skills. Edelman will show us how he creates flattering portraits with simple lighting and posing techniques. He will cover everything from camera and lens selection, depth of field, camera angles, composition, posing, basic lighting, backgrounds and more. His talk will include a demonstration using a model and real-time video projected for the audience so that you can see these simple techniques through the camera lens.

His work has been published in magazines like Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Get Fit and Shape to name but a few. Joe has been called upon to complete assignments for both the New York Times and The Los Angeles Times and has serviced commercial advertising clients from all over the United States. In addition to lecturing at workshops across the United States, Edelman is also an adjunct professor teaching about “The Art of Seeing” at Muhlenberg College.
