LCCC Celebrates Diversity with Professor and International Author

LCCC Diversity Committee will hold a Hispanic Heritage event with Javier Avila, of Bethlehem, a professor at NCC, at 7 p.m., Weds., Nov. 2, in AC 107/108, main campus. Nominated by NCC, Avila was honored as the 2015 Pennsylvania Professor of the Year Award sponsored by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education. He is a renowned poet and novelist and achieved international recognition for his bestselling novel Different, which went on to become an award-winning motion picture in a dozen countries.
