Holiday Train Layouts including Thomas the Tank Engine Fun Room
Holiday magic begins at the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum on Friday, November 25th. Model train layouts, including Thomas the Tank Engine, will steam their way throughout the Museum. The announcement was made today by Joseph Garrera, Executive Director of the Museum.
“Trains are most magical at Christmas. They capture the imaginations of young and old. We see this in the Polar Express, Thomas the Tank Engine, and the lure of trains everywhere,” said Garrera. The Museum’s holiday exhibit features magical railroad layouts. The sound of steam locomotives, the power of modern diesels, and their role in building America come to life at the Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum.
Thomas the Tank Engine, an international icon, occupies a place of excitement in the Museum’s Thomas Fun Room. Here, children can watch Thomas the Tank Engine and his friend Percy travel the rails. Children can even color pictures of Thomas, play with a wooden Thomas train set, and enjoy other railroad crafts and activities.
The exhibit will run through December 30, 2016. Exhibit hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Sunday 12 Noon to 4:00. The Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum is closed on Christmas Eve (December 24), and Christmas Day (December 25). The exhibit is FREE to members. Non-member adults pay $8; children are $3.
