Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Sampling
New to our area, so here is the kickoff of Alltech’s Lexington Brewing Company! Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company is a brewery and distillery based in Lexington, Kentucky founded in 1999 by Pearse Lyons, the president and founder of animal nutrition company Alltech. Nestled in the heart of bourbon country where bourbon barrels outnumber people, Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company produces a Barrel-Aged Seasonal Series that capitalizes on its close proximity to the region and the changing taste preferences of the seasons. All of these beers are produced in Kentucky, aged in freshly decanted Kentucky bourbon barrels, 100% barrel aged, and produced in bourbon barrels only used once. We Will have 3 of their core beers:
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale
Award-winning Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale is a unique sipping beer with the distinctive nose of a well-crafted bourbon. Our Kentucky Ale is aged for up to six weeks in freshly decanted bourbon barrels from some of Kentucky’s finest distilleries. Subtle yet familiar flavors of vanilla and oak are imparted to this special ale as it rests in the charred barrels. Pleasantly smooth and robust, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale may also be served as an aperitif or after-dinner drink. Launched in 2006, it has grown to become the flagship beer of the premier name in barrel-aged beers: Alltech Lexington Brewing and Distilling Company.
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout
Carefully crafted by Alltech’s master brewers, Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout builds on the success of its barrel-aged brother, the beloved Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Stout is brewed and aged with Café Citadelle Haitian coffee and aged in world-famous Kentucky bourbon barrels. The result is a complex stout with dark-roasted malts, hints of caramel and vanilla and a lightly roasted coffee finish.
Kentucky Race Day Session IPA
This brew packs all the flavor of a traditional IPA, but with less alcohol at 4.5 percent ABV. Aromatic, light-bodied and refreshing, the brew is dry hopped with Hallertau hops from a traditional German hop-growing region sacred to many brewers, as well as Cascade and Calypso hops from America’s Yakima Valley. It’s a delightfully fruity, spicy and citrusy brew that can stand the test of a long day at the races. When this beer was rolled out a portion of the proceeds went to a Old Friends thoroughbred retirement facility in Georgetown, Kentucky. Which had just lost one of their main barns to a fire.
