Our founder Kristofer Kwant’s bright ideas regarding the creation of a true small batch distillery, started to ferment more than fifteen years ago when he and his father started brewing beer together. What started as a hobby quickly turned into an obsession to engineer a better process and in turn, a search for perfection. After winning competitive accolades and eventually becoming a certified beer judge, Kristofer leaped into the world of spirits and took his passion to a whole new level.
By partnering with other distillers here in the US, performing exhaustive research into the traditions and methods of pot distilling and traveling extensively to distilleries throughout the Caribbean in search of the secrets to more authentic spirits, Kristofer was building the foundations for a community-based artisanal distillery formed upon a sustainable and socially responsible business model that distinguished itself with a focus on quality above all else. Eventually, the search for a home brought Kristofer to the vibrant and peaceful community of Emmaus, Pennsylvania. Beaming with excitement and nestled in the beautiful Lehigh Valley, Kristofer named the distillery Triple Sun after his three sons Nicholas, Joseph, and Keegan. The joy his three sons have brought him shine radiantly through each lovingly hand-crafted batch of spirits as a legacy to his children, and the local community he proudly remains committed to.
Following traditional distillation methods using an artisanal copper pot still hand made in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains of Western Kentucky, Triple Sun is creating more than just ultra-premium small batch spirits… We’re crafting a brighter future and paying homage to our past.
