Banana Factory

ArtsQuest’s Banana Factory® is a dynamic cultural arts and education center located on Bethlehem’s historic South Side. Formerly a banana distribution warehouse, the arts center features 63,000-square feet of space that are home to 27 resident artists’ studios, three galleries, the GlassWorks glassblowing studio, Olympus Digital Imaging Center and the Gallery Shoppe.

At the Banana Factory, you’ll discover a wide range of visual arts classes for children, teens and adults. Whether you’re an aspiring artist or a seasoned veteran, there’s a program that’s perfect for you. Explore glassblowing, clay, jewelry or one of the many other mediums that are available, or enroll your child in one of more than 20 fun, enriching summer camps.

On the First Friday of every month, the Banana Factory comes alive with live music, glassblowing demonstrations, open studios, complimentary refreshments and more. Visit the arts center and its resident artists from 6-9 p.m. for a cooler-than-cool experience during these “First Friday” open houses.

The Banana Factory is also the home of the new InVision Photo Festival showcasing the art of photography. From Nov. 5-7, 2010, InVision will welcome some of the nation’s most esteemed photographers for special presentations and workshops, showcase dynamic photography exhibits and offer the region’s only professional photography portfolio review.
