Old Jail Museum

This original 1871 jail was used as county prison until 1995 and is located in Jim Thorpe, just outside Lehigh Valley, Pa. It was site of the hanging of seven accused Molly Maguires in the 1870s, and the mysterious hand print that one of the prisoners placed on the wall before his hanging, which remains to this day.

  • Adult: $5.00 – Student/Senior over 65: $4.50 – child age 6 to 12: $3.50
  • Hours: Tours Memorial Day weekend through Aug. 29 and weekends only Sept. and October from noon to last tour at 4:30 p.m
  • Closed Wednesdays
  • A new tour begins every 20 minutes and lasts approximately 40 minutes
