LVPA – The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts

LVPA is an audition-based, public charter high school for the arts, offering college and career preparation through immersion in an artistic community of peers, teachers and mentors. LVPA students excel in a vibrant, safe haven for artistic expression and a disciplined academic atmosphere in which everyone – through his or her passion for the arts – shares a common language.

For some of our students, there is no other option than to create art in their lives.

It is not a choice. He or she was born into this world as part of the new generation of artists.

We welcome these students and nurture them throughout their high school career.

LVPA provides a focused approach to understanding art through dissection and study.

We offer a classical foundation on which our students build, with a depth of curriculum that includes theory and history.

We explore technique, which allows students to find their artistic equilibrium.

We provide a platform for growth in a nurturing environment.

LVPA is not typical of the modern high school experience.

We nurture the passion and special nature of each individual artist.

Students explore their art, successfully collaborate, and get in-depth knowledge of their art earlier than others.

Participating in LVPA’s rigorous arts program, students are not satisfied with superficial understanding.

LVPA kids strive for mastery. LVPA transfers the quest for mastery to the academic curriculum. Our students learn how to apply creative thinking to academic problems. They leave LVPA able to continue the study of their art or prepared to enter any academic college program of their choosing. Our students enter their adulthood as participating citizens ready to change the world because they know they can.
